On Friday, 1 May 2026, we opened the 2026 club season here at Albatross with the Opening Season Tournament Kristýny Pivcové. An incredible 89 players took part in the tournament and, despite five doubled-up flights, the fastest group completed their round in an excellent 4 hours and 30 minutes – we applaud your pace of play.
This year, as every year, we competed in teams, with the three best Stableford results from each flight counting towards the team score. Third place went to the team of František Krejča, Jiří Šmíd, Miroslav Plas and Jan Piotrovský with 109 points. The second-placed team – Alice Pospíšilová, Jan Pospíšil, Erika Caithamlová and Vladimír Klepal – scored one point more, but unfortunately it was not enough for victory. To win, 111 points were needed, and these were achieved by the flight consisting of Vít Kršňák, Karel Drchal, Markéta Hradecká and Hana Harapátová.
There were also special competitions. Nearest to the Pin was won by Libor Sionko, whose ball finished 1.82 metres from the hole. The men’s Longest Drive was won by Jan Pospíšil Jr., while Alice Pospíšilová claimed victory in the women’s category.
During the prize-giving ceremony, Albatross GR General Manager Darina Muchová introduced the chef and operator of our new restaurant, Aurea Restaurant – Petr Pecka. Physiotherapist Mgr. Jiří Tvrdík was also introduced, whose services will now be available at our resort. The presence of a masseur and physiotherapist is proof that the club management is constantly striving to bring new services and benefits to our members and further enhance their club life.
To conclude the ceremony, there was also a raffle for those who were not as lucky on the course this time.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the tournament and enjoyed the whole day with us in a pleasant atmosphere – excellent food in a lovely restaurant, delicious Taittinger champagne for the toast, the finest Czech beer, Pilsner Urquell, and of course great golf in beautiful weather and even better company.
